anti-drone systems and electronic warfare solu- tions—like the “Kentavros”—it has the capacity to lead the way for tomorrow’s defence.
Greek know-how and the independent devel- opment of critical systems are not an option. they are the only way forward. In an international en- vironment where access to technology is becom- ing increasingly complex, HAI has a duty to be at the forefront of developments in Research and Development. Its participation in the design of the Greek integrated system “Achilles Shield” is an im- portant step in this direction.
the strategic direction of the Ministry of Na- tional Defence towards HAI in the coming years is clear: more know-how, more added value, more extroversion. the aim is to transform it into an ex- port agency for Greek technology, through part- nerships with leading international players and participation in European programs.
the expansion of civil aviation applications, the production of composite materials and com- ponents for civil aircraft, and the digital transition of infrastructure and systems will be the pillars of the next step in the design process.
It is not enough to celebrate history. We ought to remap the course ahead. With operational ma- turity, technical reliability, and political will, HAI can and ought to become an aeronautical centre of
Southeast Europe. It can and should become an autonomous arm of defence and technology, but also a pillar of the country’s strategic autonomy.
Finally, let me point out that HAI is not the in- dustry of yesterday. It is today’s urgent need and an investment for tomorrow. We must build this tomorrow, which is crucial for national defence, with knowledge and protect it with determination. “Fortune favours the bold”.
As a State, we will continue to support its work.
through investments, political decisions, and strategic alliances.
Happy birthday HAI!
