{"id":5228,"date":"2016-03-31T11:06:41","date_gmt":"2016-03-31T08:06:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new-haicorp.gr\/?p=5228"},"modified":"2026-05-04T10:25:20","modified_gmt":"2026-05-04T07:25:20","slug":"rd-design-en","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/haicorp.com\/en\/capabilities-solutions\/rd-design-en\/","title":{"rendered":"Design &#038; Development"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-page\" data-elementor-id=\"5228\" class=\"elementor elementor-5228 elementor-5126\" data-elementor-post-type=\"page\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6944fd3c e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"6944fd3c\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5ad4e8cc elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5ad4e8cc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3><strong>Aircraft systems and aerostructures\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3><h5 id=\"intro_text\">HAI possesses robust capabilities in both civil and military aircraft engineering, in-line with company\u2019s technology development strategy.<\/h5><p>Research, Design &amp; New Products Development Directorate, leads the following activities:<\/p><h4>Design &amp; Development capabilities<\/h4><ul><li>Conceptual Design<\/li><li>Detailed &amp; Assembly Design<\/li><li>Structural Design &amp; Analysis<\/li><li>Testing<\/li><li>Systems integration design<\/li><li>Prototyping<\/li><li>Prototypes manufacturing<\/li><li>Repairs design<\/li><li>In-service support<\/li><\/ul><p>Directorate\u2019s activities are <strong>certified<\/strong> as per <strong>AS9100<\/strong> and organized according to <strong>EASA Part 21J<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The Directorate is situated in an 800m<sup>2<\/sup> offices area, using state-of-the-art design and development tools, world widely established, such as:<\/p><ul><li>DS\/CATIA V4<\/li><li>DS\/CATIA V5<\/li><li>DS\/CATIA V5\/CPD (Composite Part Design Module)<\/li><li>DS\/ENOVIA VPM<\/li><li>DS\/ENOVIA Smarteam<\/li><li>MSC\/PATRAN-NASTRAN<\/li><li>HYPERMESH<\/li><\/ul><p>Various other proprietary and COTS (i.e.: Commercial off-the-shelf) software is used, covering areas such as:<\/p><ul><li>Structures<\/li><li>Aerodynamics<\/li><li>Materials<\/li><li>Flow simulation<\/li><\/ul><p>The Directorate performs Research activities in new materials and their corresponding production techniques, using its well organized advanced materials laboratory to perform:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Composite manufacturing for prototype development<\/strong><\/li><li>Testing (Mechanical, Microscopic analysis, NDT)<\/li><\/ul><h4>Some indicative new products that have been developed in-house<\/h4><ul><li>Design, Development and Manufacturing of Hellenic Air Force Pegasus RPV<\/li><li>Design and Development of a Kit-L Laser-Guided Bomb<\/li><li>Preliminary Design of a General Aviation Light Utility Aircraft<\/li><li>Design and Development of a Remotely Piloted Target Drone<\/li><li>Design and Manufacturing of Falcon 900EX Business Jet Extended Range Fuel Tank<\/li><li>Design and Manufacturing of IRIS-T Dummy Air Training Missile and Tactical Umbilical<\/li><li>Participation in the structural design phase of Boeing 787 cargo frame door<\/li><li>Participation in the Design &amp; Development phase of CSO (HELIOSIII satellite)<\/li><\/ul><h4>Current Programs<\/h4><ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/haicorp.com\/en\/capabilities-solutions\/neuron-en\/\"><strong>NEURON Unmanned Combat Vehicle<\/strong><\/a><br \/>Design and Manufacturing of Prototype Exhaust Assembly (Nozzle &amp; masking plate) and Aft Fuselage sections, as core partner in the corresponding consortium.
