the establishment of the HAI in 1975 and its full operation within just five years constitute a his- torically significant achievement for the domestic defence industry.
Over the next two decades, the HAI estab- lished itself as a major defence industry in the wider eastern Mediterranean region, developing its production capabilities in the fields of military aircraft manufacturing and maintenance, while also decisively expanding its activities in the civil aviation market. the company’s progress was not always smooth, but the HAI managed to success- fully recover from periods of crisis by reorganizing
its production structure and effectively implement- ing appropriate financial restructuring practices.
the HAI is currently the largest national military equipment manufacturer.
