Another key dimension of the Directorate’s re- search and development activities is the devel- opment of drones and UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles). the HAI has invested significantly in the development of electronic warfare technologies, with three major programs:
KentAVros
the medium and large UAV/drone detection and identification system began as a self-funded HAI research project in 2019. In 2023, its construc-
tion and successful testing were completed, and it entered the production line of the electronics factory. the success of “Kentavros” in Operation “Shields” in the Red Sea led to its further develop- ment and funding.

this is an active detection and identification sys- tem of small DGI Phantom class 1 drones. In the summer of 2024, its anti-drone subsystem was completed, acquiring the ability for suppression.
the JEY-CUAS and E-CUAS programs relate to the development of an integrated system for coun- tering drone threats with a high-power directed microwave pulse. An experimental test of the sys-
