signed a contract with Italy’s Aeritalia for the co- production of certain parts and components of the G.222 transport aircraft, which was a “Euro- peanized” version of the American C-130. this was followed by an agreement with Aerospatiale for the co-construction of parts for the success- ful A300 passenger aircraft, which was the result of offsets from the purchase of five aircrafts by Olympic Airways. Other important manufacturing projects in the 1980s included the co-production of the A109 helicopter of the Italian Augusta, the manufacture of flaps for the British AtP helicop- ter, and the co-construction program for Canad- air’s CL-215 firefighting aircraft. During 1980-1985, the international manufacturing projects of the HAI amounted in total to approximately 250,000
man-hours per year, corresponding to approxi- mately 10% of its total production.
domestic construction projects
In 1981 and 1985, the HAI signed a series of agree- ments with KEtHA (National Defence Research Centre) for supply programs to equip the army with various electronic and telecommunications systems, such as wireless short-range stations, laser rangefinders, telephone switchboards, and artil- lery fire control systems, worth a total of 3.3 billion drachmas. In 1985, the HAI signed a contract with ERt-1 and ERt-2 (Hellenic Broadcasting Corpora- tion) for the manufacture and supply of television signal transmitters and the provision of technical
