HELLENIC AEROSPACE INDUStRY
anniversary” is HAI’s planned participation in the development of the Greek air defence system, the “Achilles Shield”. this is a comprehensive ‘shield’ for the protection of critical infrastructure, island and mainland areas from airborne threats, includ- ing UAVs, missiles, and drones. HAI aspires to play a leading role, in collaboration with foreign part- ners and its own systems that will be incorporated into the anti-aircraft dome, actively participating in the development of electronic systems, anti-air- craft sensors, and defence infrastructure that will enable Greece to have a self-sufficient and highly effective air defence system, adapted to modern challenges.
Going a step beyond UAVs and C-UAVs, and focusing firmly on innovation and extroversion, it would be a significant omission to not mention the construction of the groundbreaking (for Greece) “Hellenic Integration and testing Facility” (HAItF). this is a new, state-of-the-art infrastructure, which, in collaboration with the European Space Agency, is expected to be completed by 2026, at a pivotal point for its immediate exploitation with- in the framework of the National Micro-Satellite Program. Beyond its commercial exploitation, the operation of this infrastructure constitutes a valu- able national resource that is expected to propel
HAI into the space sector, justifying its title as the country’s aerospace industry. For us at HAI, after all, literally the sky is the limit!
In addition to all this, there is the exceptional work of a modern and well-organized training Centre, which provides comprehensive training and certification to aircraft technicians, engi- neers, and aircraft electronic technicians, not only for HAI personnel and its subcontractors, but also for the air forces of friendly and allied countries, such as the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain. In collaboration with the country’s largest academic institutions, it acts as the best ambassador not only for HAI’s technical capabilities, but also for the aviation ideal, both within and beyond our borders.
the challenge of the new era
Considering the above, it is clear that 50 years after its establishment, the Hellenic Aerospace In- dustry is not only celebrating its past, but is also dynamically shaping the future with confidence and extroversion. With a steady focus on devel- opment and excellence and with its staff as its driving force, it continues to write its own history in the skies, in defence, and in innovation.
For all of us at HAI, the challenge for the next
