Hellenic Assembly, Integration & Testing Facility
Advanced Infrastructure for Space Systems & Microsatellite Testing
The Hellenic Assembly, Integration and Testing Facility (HAITF) is a state-of-the-art aerospace infrastructure within the premises of the Hellenic Aerospace Industry S.A. (HAI), designed to support the complete preparation lifecycle of space hardware and microsatellites of up to 500kg, with maximum dimensions of 1m × 1m × 1.5m. Equipped with advanced technologies and specialized testing capabilities, HAITF strengthens Greece’s participation in the international space ecosystem while enabling the development of reliable, mission-ready space systems.
Key Features
AIT Capabilities
Assembly, integration, verification and testing support for advanced space systems.
Up to 500kg
Capability to support microsatellites and space payloads at this mass class.
1m × 1m × 1.5m
Accommodates compact satellite platforms and payload configurations.
Fully Operational Facility
Fully operational infrastructure, integrated within HAI’s aerospace ecosystem.
Technical Footprint of HAITF
HAITF combines all the critical capabilities required for the final preparation stages of space hardware prior to launch qualification. The facility supports assembly, electrical integration, functional verification and environmental testing, ensuring mission reliability, operational readiness and compliance with international aerospace standards.
Assembly & Integration
Mechanical and electrical integration of subsystems into fully operational satellite platforms, ensuring compatibility and mission readiness. Assembly and integration represents the final stage in the manufacture of a satellite system, typically involving the physical and electrical connection of the satellite’s subsystems (e.g., payload) into the spacecraft bus (platform).
Functional Verification
Comprehensive operational testing and performance validation, conducted before and after environmental qualification. Functional tests verify the functionality and reliability of satellite subsystems, including full-system validation, prior to, during, and after environmental testing.
Environmental Testing
Simulation of launch and orbital conditions through thermal vacuum and vibration testing, to verify structural integrity and operational endurance. These tests guarantee, through qualification and acceptance, that satellites will function reliably in space, maintain dependable operation throughout their life cycle and ultimately ensure mission success.
