Precision Measuring Equipment laboratory (PMEL)
PMEL is the laboratory that performs the periodic calibrations of all HAI equipment / tools / devices, both at its facilities which include the Dimensional, Electronics and Physics laboratories, as well as on-site, also for external customers. The around 5.000 calibrations per year are conducted under strictly controlled conditions of temperature, humidity, dust, noise, vibration and electromagnetic interference , in accordance with Military standards, National and International specifications and manufacturers’ manuals. The Laboratory’s reference standards are traceable to S.I. of Units through Metrology institutes under CIPM Mutual Recognition Agreement. The laboratory is accredited by E.SY.D. per ELOT ΕΝ ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (Certificate 1116-3 – E.SY.D.)

Physical Sciences Laboratory (PSL)
The Physical Sciences Laboratory (PSL) performs all tests and analyses, more than 5000 per year, in a controlled environment, in support of HAI production activities, including plating solutions (automatic titrators and atomic absorption spectrometer), fuels and hydraulic fluids (automatic particle counter), lubricating oils (atomic emission spectrometer), paints, sealants and adhesives (tensile strength equipment) and metals (hardness testing, salt spray corrosion, hydrogen embrittlement and metallography.
