02/02/2026: Technological Milestone for HAI: Integration of BARAK-MX and “KENTAVROS” Confirmed in Field Demonstration

Hellenic Aerospace Industry (HAI) announces the successful completion of the integration of its “KENTAVROS” anti-UAV system into the BARAK-MX Air and Missile Defense System of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), achieving fully unified operation at the Command & Control (C2) level.
This integration is the result of a multi-month, intensive and highly focused collaboration between the technical teams of IAI and HAI, aimed at safe, seamless and operationally reliable interoperability between the systems. This synergy reflects a shared strategic direction: providing end users with greater flexibility and more options against rapidly evolving threats.

Hard Kill and Soft Kill in a Single C2 Environment
The strength of the integration lies in the ability to combine Hard Kill and Soft Kill options within a single, centralized Command & Control environment.
BARAK-MX is an internationally recognized and operationally proven system, designed to counter a wide range of threats, from combat aircraft and cruise missiles to ballistic missiles. In parallel, HAI’s “KENTAVROS” adds critical Soft Kill capabilities for countering UAVs/UAS, through advanced electronic support and jamming techniques, where deemed operationally appropriate.
A recent technical field demonstration confirmed that the two systems function as a fully integrated whole: from threat detection and assessment, through target cueing, to the activation of Soft Kill electronic countermeasures via jamming.

Alignment with the “Achilles Shield”
This integrated solution is fully aligned with the philosophy and operational requirements of the “Achilles Shield” program, as it brings kinetic interception and electronic warfare options together under the same Command & Control framework. This approach enables a scalable response depending on the nature of the threat, from low-cost drones to complex, longer-range threats, optimizing the use of available assets and reserving high-value kinetic systems for the most critical cases.

Following the successful field demonstration, Executive Chairman of HAI, Mr. Alexandros Diakopoulos, stated: “The successful field demonstration is a significant technological milestone for HAI. It confirms that the Greek know-how behind ‘KENTAVROS’ can be seamlessly integrated into advanced air defense architectures, enhancing the flexibility and scalability of the response to modern threats.”

In the same spirit, Mr. Boaz Levy, President and CEO of Israel Aerospace Industries, noted:
“At a time when aerial threats are evolving rapidly and becoming increasingly accessible, modern air and missile defense systems must be built on technological superiority and a fully integrated, multi-layered architecture. Together with our close allies and partners in Greece, and through meaningful cooperation with the domestic defense industry, we are strengthening operational resilience and helping to meet growing defense needs at the European level. With solutions that combine proven technology with unified command and control, we enable states to effectively protect their airspace, critical infrastructure and citizens.”

Operationally Proven, Ready for the Future
Both BARAK-MX and “KENTAVROS” are operationally proven systems with demonstrated effectiveness in demanding environments. The cooperation between IAI and the Hellenic Aerospace Industry goes beyond a simple technical interface, constituting a strategic partnership that strengthens defense autonomy and interoperability.
By bridging missile defense with electronic warfare, the integrated BARAK-MX / “KENTAVROS” solution forms a strong, multi-layered and cost-effective shield, capable of effectively protecting the Greek sky against the full spectrum of modern aerial threats.
